Info Edge (India) Ltd. is one of the India's premier internet-based businesses. Over a period of more than two decades it has steadily developed a portfolio of brands across different domains that primarily provide online classified services. The company operates online recruitment business through its flagship brand - naukri.com. It is a listed company in National Stock Exchange. Today naukri.com has a base of 70 million registered job seekers. Apart from this, Info Edge also owns the largest portals in matrimony, real estate and second largest portal in the education segment. These numbers are only a testimony of the large traffic that Info Edge commands in each channel.

Info Edge was already in discussion with their existing SMS service provider for WhatsApp, who incidentally happens to be our biggest competitor in India. One of the key challenges we had to overcome was swift integration with complex systems and a rapid onboarding process. Seamless and continuous engagement with jobseekers through a digital platform was the biggest challenge for the team at Naukri.com. They needed a single engaging channel of communication wherein jobseekers can be kept informed at every phase of their journey. WhatsApp having the highest penetration among all chat-apps in India became an obvious choice. Today Naukri.com send WhatsApp notifications for login onto their account, OTP, resume upload, onboarding messages, alerts on potential frauds and finally general fallback messages with FAQ’s. Since its inception, today 65% of the jobseekers prefer WhatsApp as the best mode of communication with Naukri.com. In these tough times during the COVID-19 lockdown we see a high rise in incoming traffic eventually leading Info Edge to exclaim and WhatsApp happens to be the easiest mode of engagement for jobseekers even in the most anxious of times.
