  Alok Ohrie hosted a CIO Roundtable exclusively for Tata entities belonging to the Finance and Manufacturing Vertical on Digital Transformation focused on unlocking the Data Capital in the era of IOT, AI/ML, Robotics. The CIO’s in attendance were from key Tata entities like Voltas, Mjunction, Tata Sky, Tata Sons, Tata Motors, Tata ClassEdge, India Hotels (Taj Group of Hotels), Tata Chemicals, Tata Motors Finance among others.

It was an intimate format, that brought forth open points of view from Alok with customers sharing their observations and experiences.

  Tata Group Global Client Executive - Parrtha Raju opened the session with a welcome note thanking Tata’s executives who has made India proud and are known for the highest standards of ethics, integrity, credibility, quality etc., He also spoke of business which used to be <$5M in 2014 and is currently in excess of $100M, with Tata being the only India headquartered Dell Technology Select (DTS) account. We now conduct business with 78 Tata Entities across 47 countries spanning products and solutions from Dell EMC, VMWare, RSA, SecureWorks, Virtustream and Pivotal. He also gave an overview of our plan with Tata for FY20 and beyond.

  He also spoke on the role of data in transforming businesses and insights from his experience of companies working in multi-cloud environments. He closed his discussion highlighting his relationship with Tata Group starting from their Chairman Mr. N. Chandrasekaran and the difference we can make to Tata’s Transformation Initiatives.

 
  Tata Group Global Transformation lead Dan Brassington spoke on Indian market covering the landscape of Indian companies undergoing digital transformation and the need to leverage data as an asset, the innovation from Dell happening here and finally views on new trends catching up in the Indian market across sectors. Customers were deeply engaged in the conversation speaking about the role of data, people, and skills in transforming organizations and adopting new age technology like AI/ML and robotics. Dan took them through our current strategic engagement with Tata Sons, Tata Consultancy Services and Tata Communications to make OTON (One Tata Operating Network) successful. Overall a power-packed day with great two-way interactions.

Prasanna Ranade - District Manager for West spoke about the difference the digital revolution is bringing to customer experience. Customers are expecting faster than ever services and enterprises have to respond quickly. IT is playing a key role here as more and more processes are getting digitized. Agility is defining market leaders and laggards. Example of Tata Harrier releasing 3 software updates within 2 weeks improving functionality and customer experience was well received by the audience.

Tata Group Account Manager - Manick Dhar spoke about how Dell and Tata's relationship has matured over the years. From end user computing to complex data center solutions to enabling business through technology, now is the opportune time to engage and work as partners to define business outcomes. Working with customer’s IT and business together to create competitive advantage would be Dell’s endeavor in this age of AI, ML, IOT and Analytics.

CIO of Voltas - Mr. Sanjay Sinha spoke about the open door policy for Dell and requested us to offer solutions to overcome challenges around End Customer Data, Supply Chain and Seasonality of Spares.

CIO of Tata Chemicals - Mr. Venkatadri was eager to learn about the Digital Transformation that can enhance their business. He spoke about the difference we could make with them to Indian Farmers in helping them save their crop.

CISO of Tata Motors - Dr. Pawan Sharma and CV Joshi spoke about various initiatives in TML across Engineering and General IT around digitization. These include connected cars, IoT, Plant automation etc. Overall there are around 62 projects running in TML on various technology platforms where Dell could makes a difference.

CIO of India Hotels (Taj Group Of Hotels) - Mr. Khushru spoke about how today business is coming to IT for solutions and looking at IT as a business enabler.

CIO of Tata Motors Finance - Mr. Ramesh Kumar spoke about best practices Dell could share to help them double their current business in a couple of years.

CIO of Tata ClassEdge - Mr. Albert Lewis spoke about the current partnership with us in ClassEdge Cosmos and how we could help them enhance their core Comprehensive Instructional Solutions to Indian schools.

Tata Sky Vice President - Mr. Arun Kumar spoke about the innovation they are involved in connecting Content to eCommerce and the solution Dell could offer.

Tata Sons Vice President - Mr. Indriyajit Sethi spoke about the relationship with Dell over the last 5 years and the road ahead for the next decade.

This event made a considerable difference to understand our customers' Business Imperatives and get engaged early with them (before our competitors) in order to make a bigger difference to their Transformation Initiatives.This event also supported us in enhancing our “Trusted Advisor Status” with Tata.
